SDX30 Applications

The SDX30 is a range of rugged miniature self-contained data loggers with analogue and/or digital inputs, signal conditioning, A/D conversion, triggering and solid-state disk storage. Simple tape-recorder like operation with complete solid-state software control of conditioning, acquisition and storage. Some models feature removable Compact Flash disks where data files can be copied like any other file under Windows.

The range includes versions of differing analogue and digital channel counts, signal conditioning , triggering and other features. All feature small size and very low power requirements. Pi Logic will build or customise loggers or PC software to suit particular applications, providing an economic turn-key solution where monitoring and logging are required.

For long-term unattended monitoring, trigger based acquisition allows only signals of interest, with pre-event buffering, to be saved to disk.

Typical Applications include:

• Simple acquisition of analogue and or digital signals in the laboratory
• Monitoring engine parameters, gearbox settings and GPS information in ships or vehicles
• Checking for and logging error or overload conditions with dial out facility
• Temperature measurements within ovens or kilns using thermally insulated loggers
• Logging periods of interest like storms, trains etc, during long-term strain monitoring on bridges, tracks or tunnels
• Complete record from sensors prior to machinery or component failure with pre-event storage to the disk limit
• Very long term monitoring, free from PC software, power or other reliability concerns and expense
• Digital versions to log time stamped change of state on any number of digital lines
• Continuous monitoring of production equipment to pre-empt failure and indicate imminent service requirements
