SDX30 Custom Versions

Pi Logic can supply custom versions of the SDX30 range to meet specific requirements and provide completely self-contained solutions to signal conditioning and monitoring requirements. They offer a very cost effective and compact solution where odd combinations of sensors, conditioning and logging conditions are required.

The loggers contain a large fully-programmable digital block and processor with disk storage whose configuration is totally under software control and which can be altered in the field. To that, application specific analogue/digital inputs, conditioning, A/D or other conversions are added to customer’s requirements. Matching Windows configuration and support software is an integral part of the package.

The architecture offers very low power consumption and immunity to viruses, vital where removable disks may contact PCs. It is currently limited to a logging speed to disk of about 400kbytes/second to compact flash disks, although input data rates may be much higher prior to data reduction. This represents 200k 16 bit A/D values or 3.2M bits per second to disk.

Some possible features that can be customised are;

  • Number of analogue channels, signal conditioning, connectors, power, isolation, etc.
  • Any A/D resolution or mixture of resolutions.
  • Digital channels. Simple logic levels or complex inputs like phase quadrature detection, frequency, counting, duty cycle as well as RS232, 485 communications where the logger can prompt for information at intervals and incorporate the response into the logged data stream.
  • Provision of remote, isolated input modules. For example, 16 strain gauge channels with A/D on 300m of standard network or fibre-optic cable.
  • Triggering with pre-event buffering on combinations of analogue/digital levels, date/time or remote commands
  • Dial-out on alarm, etc. using wired or wireless modems
  • Mixed storage of raw data and on-line analysis like rainflow, time at level, min, max, etc. to reducing storage requirements.
  • Input, output and power connections
  • Displays, indicators or switches can be self-contained, on plug-in modules or PC based
  • Housing options include compact robust diecast aluminium, rack or DIN rail mount, desktop instrument, lightweight screened ABS, etc.
